hi everyone, I recently purchased a new Tiger xRx & I'm loving it. this is my 1st Triumph after owning a long list of Jap bikes. I came across this site while researching farkles for my new toy. I live in Brisbane, Queensland Australia where the climate allows riding all year round. I have family in Cornwall where I have visited a few times, would love to get my bike over there to do some touring one day. I look forward to learning more about my new ride from your knowledge base here. P.S. I won't mention the cricket if you don't
Hi Daggy, welcome. You will notice there has been a lot of interest in the Tigers on the forum recently so hopefully discussions will happen both ways. I am interested in one but my wife says a new car is first on the list I have worked out if a buy an old car I can get a nearly new bike!! I expect that idea will be shot down in flames, Just left with a small pile of ashes I expect
Hi Daggy and welcome to the Triumph playground - I'll be interested what you have to say about your XRx as I'm about to buy either that or an XCx. How are you getting on with yours? What range do you get on a tankful, please? Any problems with it?
Hi thebiglad, ,yes i'm very happy with my xrx, it's very comfortable, nimble & heaps enough power to attract the wrong sort of attention ;-). i've done about 2500 km's on it so far & have been getting an easy 400 km's per tank. something I don't like is that the fuel warning light comes on when I still have 2 bars on the fuel gauge which means it often comes on around 300 - 330 km on the trip meter. I actually ran the gauge right down to zero & when I filled up it took 18.69L (20L tank) the trip meter showed 405 km's so the theoretical 437 km's that some road tests say is possible but you would risk running bone dry. Coming from a V-Strom I find the under seat storage is quite limited & the mirrors are smaller than i would have liked, minor nuances that I can live with. My bike came with Pirelli Scorpions which are terrible even in the dry so I have replaced them with Michelin Anakee 3's which made a huge difference to turn in & all round grip. The only issue i've had with the bike is one day it just wouldn't start, it was as if the engine stop switch was on which it wasn't. Once I got it going I took it straight to the dealer where they diagnosed the clutch lever switch wasn't engaging so the ECU thought the clutch hadn't been pulled in to start it. A simple turn of the clutch lever adjustment knob from #3 to #2 setting fixed it. Your choice between an xrx or xcx will depend much on what type of riding you do, if it's more tar than dirt then the xrx will be the one. let's us know what you decide on & hope to hear your thoughts. Cheers Daggy
G'day daggy, Never been to Oz but I've seen your wizard on telly . Oh and of course skippy. Good luck with your Triumph, must be nice having so much sun over there, could do with some here in Ireland.
