    Hello,

So apparently the Street Twin has a helmet hook under the seat. I didn't see it, but will have another look tomorrow.

I guess my question is, if it is a hook, what is the advantage to hooking the "d-ring" over it, rather than doing up the strap, and putting the strap underneath the hook, with the d-rings under the closed seat? It is basically the same right, because in both cases you need to cut the strap to take the helmet (but I guess you need to leave the D-ring behind if you hook those on the hook).

I leave my bike at the train station (in the sticks, not London), and have seen others leave helmets, so thinking about leaving mine on occasion..

I'm surprised a certain Northamptonshire resident has not popped up yet to suggest you buy a topbox...

Personally I have one on my T100 to store my lid when I get to wherever I'm going. Very useful but not everyone's cup of Darjeeling.

A topbox is definitely not going to happen :) Thanks for the suggestion though!

    Good man!
I use one of these, though not the Oxford one. Can attach through the D ring or use the T piece through the quick release fastening.

Don't do it! Think of the aesthetics of your motorbike!
Designers spent a long time getting that right - why ruin it with a plastic abomination stuck on it's arse?:eek:

In Australia Country WA we just leave our helmets on the seat mirror handle bars or where ever , they are always there where you left them on your return !! Might be because there are often plenty of other Bikers around who watch for light fingered scrotes and dissued them !

Some places over here you can do that (on a bike meet/run) but normally would lock it to the bike as not everyone is a robbing fecker but only takes one and your £400 lid (not mine) is gone  deporting all the crims 200 years ago didn't seem to work:joy::joy:

It did, their offspring got left behind , the parent's arrived here in Australia found it so tuff that they reformed ! The little scrotes left behind without reformed parent's to guide them , ran amuck and bred even worse little scrotes !! Or did I get the wrong end of the migratory stick ??

I would never leave my helmet on a bike.
Bike gets stolen they have you helmet too.
Also it’s prone to getting knocked by other people , at risk of getting wet.
Just get a rucksack that you can fit the helmet in and carry it with you or get a top box.
I have seen drunk sods pee up against a line of bikes ( or everything else in the line of fire )so why leave such an expensive piece of safety equipment lying around.

Yeah I understand that. I wouldn't do it regularly, and I always (at the moment) take my helmet with me. Just thinking about if I need to take a bag to work with me though, and when I get on the tube in rush hour, a bag and a helmet is a nightmare. I will see how it fits in the big and consider that as an option.

    Definitely no topbox though ;)
