Hi, Pleased to meet you all, I have just joined your forum and hope very soon to be joining you as a triumph owner :)
I have been mad on bikes since I was at junior school & had them since I was 15 - thats 28 years in all (now 43) but for nearly 2 years when mortgage & work stopped play.
I've had mostly super bikes with the odd tourer & trail bike thrown in, currently I have an RSV4 and a zx10r - which I swapped my zzr1400 for coz it was too big & cumbersome to push around my drive & garage, fast but too porky !
    I've had 3 R1's (tracked them all) a Gixer 1000, a few kawa & honda trailies, a zzr 600, zzr 1400, zx7r, 3 zxr400 (tracked them all) a KR1s (tracked it) and quite a few others here and there !
It must be my age - or just the bloody weather ? but I have gone mad for a tiger 800XC ! I don't often sit on a trail or touring style bike & feel comfortable, not normally my style, and they feel heavy and too tall ! (I am 5'9") but the tiger 800 feels just perfect, comfortable and balanced and it looks great, so I have a test ride booked in next week, deposit ready, solicitor on standby when the wife finds out!!!

So thats me, textile suit ready, can't wait for the tiger :)

Any tips or input from 800XC owners would be really appreciated, how do you get on with keeping the spokes clean? I have looked at 2 now & both had scabby spokes.
which mods / extras are essential ? high screen, ?

    all the best
    SK

Skek welcome to the forum. That's an impressive list of bikes..
spokes to keep clean wipe down with WD40 or similar after each clean...
spray onto a cloth and then wipe the wheels & spokes...
sorry I don't know of any magical remedy apart from good Ole fashion graft. ?..

    Welcome to the forum SK

That is a lot of green bikes you've owned but no Blades??

The 800 tigers seem really popular at the moment and they have a great engine.

Best of luck with the other half when she finds out
