    Hi guys,

Just thought I should stop by and introduce myself. I'm richard and I have recently (more like 8 months ago now!) purchased a speed triple and love it. Did the major service on it myself and am currently preparing to take it to Europe over the summer!

Any touring advice for these bikes would be most appreciated, and if anyone has a list of problems they have experienced and tools required to fix as a DIY get you home sorta thing that would be most helpful. Always plan for the worst and hope for the best!

    Cheers

    Rich

Hi and Welcome in, enjoy your trip to Europe, only problem I ever had with my old Speedy was related to the bloody alarm.

Welcome in, have a trawl of your bike specific thread and see if anything comes up and post there if you can’t find what you’re after, you’ll get answers directed at your model hopefully

Toured to Spain last year with no problems at all. Used a tank bag and a 50l roll bag bungeed to the rentec rack. Did 480 miles in one hit from Bilbao to mates gaff just south of Valencia and was fine cruising at the limit, or just slighty (not enough to attract attention) above. Used a car sat nav in a waterproof case. Had just a few extra tools on board, puncture repair kit, travel insurance and recovery (make sure you are covered for ALL eventualities in Europe). Find some good roads to ride if you can avoiding motorways unless you have a lot of miles to do as we did on our first day. Have fun, it's fantastic abroad just watch what you are doing. (had go pro as well, mainly for my protection as opposed to recording for later viewing). Which speedie have you bought???
