I just bought my first Triumph trophy 1200 just got 30000 miles on it I'm working on changing all the fluids brake pads and doing all the maintenance to it I don't know where it's been in the past it seems like it runs really well you think that's high mileage for a bike like that I plan on taking a 3000 mile trip with it but I'm a little concerned about the mileage do you think the transmission should be serviced
Welcome Alan. If you have a 1200 Trophy with carbs then 30,000 miles is no problem. Smilinjack is spot on. My '95 Trident 900 has almost 55,000 miles on it and it runs beautifully. Make sure your battery is in good condition and fully charged. A poor battery can ruin the starter sprag clutch. If you have a fuel injected 1200 Trophy then, as said before, 30,000 miles is not anything to worry about.
Hi Alan and welcome to the forum, As has been said 30,000 just run in, my 1993 900 Trophy has just been retired with 130,000 on the clock only because I have a lower mileage one ( another 1993 one, only 60,000 on the clock so another 6 or 8 years to look forward to ) Just give yours a 6,000 mile service and off you go.
Thank you for the warm welcome I've been working on the bike getting it ready for 3000 mile trip I guess 30000 miles on this bike is pretty much broke in is what I heard it don't blow no smoke really tight I hope so and thank you once again
Welcome Alan. My middle name is Allen. My father told me he took the name from the tool company, Allen Tool. [as in Allen Wrenches]… ...J.D.
Alan Tamburini Welcome to the family. Do hit the upload a file button bottom right corner and show the inmates the new beast. Here in the asylum they do love bike pictures. Regards & Ride Safe Joe.
