Hi all, another Newbie with a Thruxton R on order. it replaced my Explorer which was unfortunately written off in March so am looking forward to different style of bike.
My bike has been in the dealer for around three weeks and am collecting it next Thursday :)

I don't suppose you ever lived in the New Forest, towards Salisbury side did you?

I only ask as a very long time ago - about 35 years - a friend of our called Lisa, went out with a guy called Giles who kept goats.

We had dinner with them one time and someone forgot to put the oven on, so we ate our freshly caught salmon at about midnight !! Happy days.

Sorry to here about your accident btw, are you back to full fitness now?

    Well that's definitely a different Giles !
recovering well thanks, the only ongoing issue I have apart from nursing fractured pelvis and vertebrae is a wrist that may need re-breaking and setting. Had an MRI last night with decision for treatment on the 27th so fingers crossed it'll be better before then.

Welcome Giles. You are going to love your Thruxty R. I picked mine up last Saturday (spookily the same colour scheme as yours) and only managed to get 107 miles on the clock so far due to the awful weather. Is yours standard? Only thing I changed were the indicators, as I've put on the led versions. Anyways, welcome and enjoy.

Hi Wassers, I couldn't resist going out last night after thinking I had a "good weather window" only to end up knee deep in a localised flood and was up until midnight cleaning
I have the tail tidy, LED indicators and V&H slip ons to go on, aluminium reservoir is fitted and I have a screen on order but wont be here until July/August.
I am having second thoughts regarding the slip ons as I feel there may be an explosion of third party accessories imminent...

Oh no. How unlucky. I nearly did the same last night, but 10 minutes after the sun came out we had thunderstorms too. I use the rain alert app. It's really good to see how close the rain is and if its moving away or getting closer to home. Hope your Thruxty is looking stick and span again after all that late night cleaning. It certainly takes some cleaning.

believe it or not I ended up grass tracking over 1/2 mile across a golf course as the road was impassable, even took the rad guard off to remove grass but after inspection this morning it looks perfect again.
