Fitted both bikes with heated grips today as the cold weather will be here soon :) under 2 hours and just over £80.00 for both, job done.

I just routed the wires n plugs up under the tank and used that electrical grease in the connectors and secured with cable ties :)

As I ride a number of bikes fitting grips to them all would not be cost effective therefore I use a pair of Gebring heated gloves, with heat controller, to which I connected a universal 12v waterproof connector to all bikes and now have heat to all parts of the hand and fingers.

My Speed Triple came with a pair of old Oxford Heated grips with the live coming from the rear brake switch!!!
I have already clipped this and will be installing a new pair of grips this weekend.
Just got to remember NOT to fill the tank on the way home, makes it a lot easier to remove the tank when it is empty

I have a kit of shrink wrap in various sizes I will use to surround the connecting plugs
Wondering if it worth soldering the live to the live side of the fuse box or adding it to the accessories already connected direct to the battery

Hi Steve, i used the premium touring set based on price and that they were the same length as the original grips as i have wide hands.

Cheers mate - I've checked online and found out that:
The Commuter grips have two heat settings, the premium touring grips have 5 heat settings, and the Advanced grips have 9 heat settings. The Commuter grips do not have the battery saving mode. Cruiser grips are for 1" bars.

I got a set of Oxford Heritage ones whilst taking out an MCN subscription. All fine until recently when the auto shut off function turns them off immediately they are turned on.

Oxford suggested a wire was broken, can't check as cables routed under tank and don't want to take tank off, not till winter lay up anyhow. You can override auto shut off by holding down heat up and down buttons simultaneously, downside is could forget and leave them on

I'd like to get some of these on my bike but with clip-on bars, bar space is non-existent :( Can't think where the controller would go.

You are not only OCD, DD, you are both a thrifty and patient man if you're willing to wait for the kids to puncture. ;) From Amazon UK.....
