Hello everyone I've just joined and after some information. I have a 2016 tiger sport with 13000 on the clock with full triumph service. I pull it out the garage for its first ride and after letting it warm up I notice oil leaking from the head on the left-hand side. Is this a common fault or has anyone heard of this happening on such a new bike

The bike has been unused since September last yr unfortunately I had an accident and needed surgery on my shoulder and today was going to be my first ride. It's due it's service in May which would have been the 12000 mile one which would include the valve check.

Thanks tricky that comment prompted me to have a proper look instead of spitting out my dummy and putting the bike back in the garage. It does appear wet above the head so it must be the cam cover

Welcome M. If it's got 13k on the clock then it's due it's 12k irrespective of when the next annual is due. Get it booked in and have the leak attended to.

A valve check should involve a new cam cover gasket so hopefully problem resolved. On this model could it be one of the seals around the spark plug holes where a plug socket would go?
If so clean the oil off with brake cleaner and dust the area with chalk or talcum powder. This will act as a blotting agent and help you to pin point the source with a torch after a short run :p

I've been intouch will triumph and had the bike checked and its definitely the head gasket. It goes in to pidcocks in Long Eaton and will be fixed as a good will gesture. Unfortunately it can't be fitted in till the 15th of April but still good news about the repair.
