My gorgeous wife and I went up to Glasgow today, went around new Triumph / Ducati dealers and the missus told me I could buy a tidy looking KTM 990 SMT, I declined the kind offer:confounded:
But then off to Infinity Motorbike shop on the GWR. Where I looked at some nice new helmets. Tried a few Arai's on, my trusted brand, but none of them fitted, couldn't get an XL RX7 even onto my head, and the chin piec on the others was actually resting on bone.
So took the big step of changing brands and plumped for the Shoei. Went for the GT Air in a rather fetching matt gey with fluro highlights. This missus really liked that one, and she was buying!!! plus really fancied an internal visor.
Got it for £325 instead of £490, so well chuffed.

Plus it will look really nice on a Black Speed Triple!!! ;)

Every one says how good they are, and fancy something a bit more sporty, but not too much top speed.
Currently planning to save a bit, keep the America for 2 up and get a third bike next year. This could all change though ' who knows! :p

Tried a GT Air on today along with, I think, every flip-front lid in J&S Oxford. None of them fitted me properly over the forehead which was a shame. Ended up with my third Arai in a row which, as they don't do them, means no internal sun visor. Off to the web I go to see if Pinlock do a light reactive insert like the one in my old lid.

Have recently got a shark evo one with inbuilt sun visor
Had to remove the cheek pads and trim the foam to suit ;)
It's very comfortable and is one of only a handful of lids on the market that is classed as both an open face and full face helmet.....well pleased :)

Recently bought a couple of new helmets myself. Been arai man for as long as I can remember, but the new rebel wasn't for me. Compared to everything else I had my mitts on it just felt waaaay too heavy.

Just own AGV now. Couple of k5's which fit super snug. Have a t2 but only because it's a sheene rep.

Like the gt air Mr O.

The rebel was the one that sat on my chin, plus thought it a bit fugly. I was a diehard Arai man, but they lost me.
Haven't actually got out on it yet, was wet the morning, and been rallying all afternoon. Wearing a really old Arai full face bike helmet that was actually approved for car use as well!!!

@dilligaf I've been using an evo2 for the last few years and found it great but end up running with the visor cracked open as the air flow is a little low to keep the visor clear in bad weather ( It is Ireland after all  )

I have cleaned pin locks before. Run under warm water, remove smudge with wet fingers, the shake water off, the dry with a hair dryer.
Used to do this with Ice hockey visors, they had a coating and would smudge all the time when playing.
Only a suggestion, if it feck it up totally!! Tough :laughing:
