Handlebars And Controls

Went to change handlebars on my '23 Speed Triple 1200RS...what a freakin' nightmare.

Triumph seems to go to great lengths to make the bike next to impossible to work on.

They won't sell you a service manual. All the handlebar fittings are proprietary and it appears the only reason they exist is so even to change the handlebar, you need to go to the dealer.

The manual I found shows nothing on how to get the control pods off the bar.

I even googled it but found nothing really useful.

All the Japanese bikes I've owned have been straightforward with bar swaps...slide or cut off the old grips, a couple screws on each clamshell half of the switch pods, removed the brake and clutch levers with two screws each, unclamp the bars from the upper triple and you're done.

I love the way the bike performs, but if I knew Triumph was this non-friendly to owners that do their own work I would have never bought it.

Anyone help out here?
