Handlebar Mounts

My Bonnie got knocked over and had the obligatory slightly bent handlebar, but on closer examination I was just able to push the bars back to level. The rubber bushes in the bar mounts had enough give to line up again. However, I then noticed that if I push the bars to full lock there is a quite noticeable flex in the mounts, so you can push the bars slightly out of true on either side of full lock. In normal operation you wouldn't really notice as it's not much movement at all. My question is have I damaged the mounting bush or is it just normal?

On a different note, the headlamp and its mountings were also pointing west, but was just able to push those back in line as well.
