Greetings all. I just found this forum. I've been on Triumphra* for a long time. I own and ride a 1998 Sprint Sport. I have owned it since new and it turned over 40k miles yesterday. I'm in Northern VA in the US. This has been a really reliable motorcycle. Only time it let me down was when the pickup coil (aka crank position sensor) failed. Other than that, it's been chain/sprockets, tires, brakes, plugs and lots of riding. I replaced the airfilter with a K&N less than a year after I bought it off the showroom floor. still hate that job of removing the airbox to clean the filter. Next project is to recover the seat. the vinyl is wearing very thin. Next years air filter clean will also do the airbox mod to cut it so I don't have to remove the carbs anymore to clean the air filter. I still love riding my Sprint after 20 years. I maintain it and it runs like a champ. I get compliments on it all the time and people shocked when I tell them it is a 1998.
Nice ride. I am a Owner of a 96 Sprint, had since it was uncrated at local dealership. 46K miles, no problems, runs great still and like you I get complements everywhere I go. Check out my pic's sometime in my profile. Not many of us USA members, I am in Sioux Falls SD. Have rode coast to coast, Daytona, and my favorite area the Black Hills of SD (every summer) just 495 miles from my front door. Over the years my Sprint has been the best bike I have ever bought and still to this day every time I ride, at least three to four times a week, I 'm grinning ear to ear behind my full face.
Welcome, Tim. Nice bike, but I like this 'coz I is tough and don't need (much of) a fairing!! Just saying!!
