I'm really sorry but due to my partner having cancer and the first operation will be in mid July (just heard this news about the op this afternoon)with follow up operations later I really don't feel as though I can leave and make the trip. I am so disappointed as I was really looking forward to meeting you guys, but my partner always has to come first.
My next task is to try to cancel the hotel and the ferry.
    Please cancel my meal options.

    That's a shame,but family comes first.
You need to be with loved ones.
Fingers crossed for a good outcome.

Sad to hear this fella. I feel your concern. My wife too had to undergo a major operation last year along with lengthy Chemotherapy treatment. Thinking it was all over and behind us she needing to go in for another major operation a month ago. We're hoping this will be the end of it. Hoping that your partners operation and treatment goes well along with her recovery.

Thanks for your wishes guys. The cancer is malignant but has not spread anywhere else. We're hoping it's contained. The last few months (since April) have been simply hell. It'll be removed in a couple of weeks thank God, then there will be further surgery and radiotherapy.
    Cheers again
    Nikki

Been there, done that, got the T shirt, Nikki.
Good luck and best wishes to you both.:)
When SWMBO was diagnosed with breast cancer, I immediately postponed my heart op so that I was able to look after her through her lumpectomy and subsequent radiotherapy treatment. She is not a good patient and it has been hard for both of us, but somehow we have muddled through it together. After 12 months or so, she has got her head around it all and is now in a much better place mentally. And hopefully I'll be getting my heart op in the not too distant future.
There is light at the end of the tunnel - it's just a bugger that the tunnel is such a long one, and it has a couple of twists and turns in it which just makes it bloody difficult to see the light!
There is plenty of support out there for the patient, which is a good thing.:)
Sadly there is not so much for those of us who have to do the caring, which is not so good.:(
Stay strong, Lass. Us Tykes are not easily beaten! All my important little bits are crossed for you both!

Nicki, so sorry to hear this, and it will be a shame not to meet you, I was hoping with you around there would be a chance we'd all behave in a proper and gentlemanly manner but who knows what will happen now.
Please accept my best wishes and thoughts for you and your partner and hope for a full and speedy recovery. Next time hopefully?
