for such essential piece of kit?

Anyone recommend a pair? I ride a Thruxton and wear a Belstaff Crosby jacket, looking for a good pair of gloves that are both protective and aesthetically pleasing!!!

    Cheers

Sorry mate J and S have a pretty poor stock on 'cafe racer' type gloves, personally I didn't like what they had so I bought a lovely new Arai instead ha ha ha

Hi, I've got a pair of Dainese that I think look the part & will hopefully offer some decent protection when the inevitable happens! They are also incredibly comfortable, definitely the best I've ever worn.

These are a few years old now but the new equivalent seems to be the X-run. They also do an X-strike which give a bit more protection.

Hi and welcome - I had some nice Alpinestars summer gloves with good palm protection.
    Bought from J & S called a Chief Glove I think.

I swear by Knox Handroids.....they are excellently comfortable, their service is second to none and when I need to replace them I will only look at Handroids again. They aren't the cheapest gloves in the world but mine have done about 3 years of daily riding so far and are still in good nick. The only issue I've had was one of the 'laces' snapped when they were a couple of years old, but they told me to send them to them and they re-laced them for no charge!

bad people are good enough for the bike. [IMG]

Just bought a new pair of Richa Goretex gloves from JTS. They seem to have plenty of protection and they feel great. I actually went to pick up an Oxford Aqua bag that I had ordered. It hadn't been delivered so I came away with the gloves and a new pair of Kevlar jeans.

I bought a paid of Knox Zero 2 (£130) a month or so ago, they had their first proper rain test yesterday on the way home. After 20 mins the seams along the fingers were letting water in, then they started getting heavy and very cold!
The extra grip (the yellow bits) on the fingers that is a unique selling point really didn't work when they are wet (fantastic when dry). I actually stalled at the lights when the grip on the left fingers failed and the clutch slipped from my fingers...

Although these have got fantastic review, and they keep your hands very warm when it is dry, they failed miserably when wet.

I will be taking these back and currently looking at alternatives.

My summer gloves are Knox Handroids which are the fantastic, excellent feel and protection.

    £130 and they're not even waterproof !!!!! WTF !!!!!!!!!

You DO NOT always get what you pay for. I've had 2 pairs of Probiker Gortex-style gloves for over 15 years - one pair is just now relegated garde duties but the other pair are still intact and still 100% waterproof.

Oh by the way they cost 18€ per pair.

Sorry to hear that, guess I'll be sticking with my original Zero's for a bit longer then!

Yeah, I was surprised, but there was definitely water ingress around the fingers.
    Maybe a bad batch...

Might be worth dropping them an email, they were extremely good when the 'lace' went on my (then 2 year old) Handroids.......every reply I received was within 20 minutes and they went out of their way to help!

My leakage... I think it is down to the cuff of the glove allowing water run off from the jacket sleeve into the glove. Knox say they are designed to go under the sleeve, but there is no way they will fit, they are 4 inches long from the wrist, have armour and a reflective braid, so no way meant for under the sleeve.
Knox refuse to recognise the problem so I now have a pair of £130 gloves that wont keep me dry...

I had a lengthy discussion with Knox where they tried to sell me another pair of their gloves, but no exchange or refund on my current ones. They also kept saying they can do pressure tests to check they are waterproof, but that isnt my problem, the cuffs are too damn large to go under a sleeve and let water run in when they are over the sleeve.

I am bitterly disappointing with these and can only recommend to avoid them
