Givi Mounting Stuff - Reviews Or Cross-compatibility Thoughts?

Hey everyone - I have a 2017 T120, and looking to get it kitted out for some spring and summer touring. I already have a pair of soft Givi saddlebag that I really like and provide lots of room for camping gear, etc., along with a Givi top case that I also like to pop on for longer trips.

My first question is this: have any of you had any experience with Givi's "Remove-X" saddlebag holders? It's slightly hard to track down, but the Street Twin kit appears to be compatible with the T120. I like the idea of being able to pop off the holder when I'm not taking long tours with the saddlebags.

Second question: any suggestions or experience about installing multiple racks/mounts on the Bonnie T120? All options, including OEM stuff, seem to always bolt into the top mount for the suspension, either behind or in front of the strut. If I install the above Givi saddlebag support with a Givi rear rack, one connects behind the strut and one in front of it; the same would probably be the case with the OEM pannier racks and the Givi rear rack.

I'm really just looking for any relevant experience and/or technical thoughts on potential issues with mounting multiple items to the struts. Folks have strong feelings about what looks good on a Bonnie, and while I respect everyone's aesthetic preferences, my main priority is securing mounts that are practical for my needs and won't break the bank. (FWIW: I can get both the Givi saddlebag holders and rear rack for $250 with shipping.)

    Any advice or thoughts?

Well done for investigating before buying. As a former electronics engineer a phrase I soon learnt was "never assume".

The 2016+ Street Twin/Cups and T100/T120s share pretty much the same chassis, so many of the Triumph accessories and parts are interchangeable; many are often not listed as compatible because they simply weren't intended for that particular model.

So it will most likely be the case that if GIVI say that something will fit the Street Twin, it will also fit the T100/120.

For example, I've fitted the T100/120 modular grabrail and rack to my 2018 Street Cup and it fits fine. Triumph's rack appears to fit behind the shock, but actually the fitting bolts screw into the frame behind the rear shock. Triumph's Panniers mount to the outside of the top of the rear shocks and again are universal across the Street Twin T100/120 models.

A little more online research should help you decide which way to go. Try going to the manufacturers' support pages and see if you can download fitting instructions for the models you're interested in. The diagrams will give you an understanding of how your bike's built, what is most likely interchangeable and how you'll fit your choices of racks and panniers.

Some time on the Triumph configurator web pages (Accessorise your Triumph Motorcycle | For the Ride) will help you understand what's compatible across models. World of Triumph's parts pages World of Triumph | Parts Finder – World Of Triumph will also help you understand compatibility.

To get an understanding of how triumph fit their racks and panniers, go to Triumph Instructions.com and type in AA9758331 for the rack and A9518155 for the panniers.

Hope all that helps, the research is often as much part of the satisfaction as the actual fitting and riding.

    Enjoy the ride .
