I am considering buying a used 2016 T100/T120 Bonneville and would like some advice on what any common problems are. I've owned four Hinckley Bonnivilles since 2009, all carb models and didn't have any real problems with them. I've heard that the new generation T100/T120s can suffer from electrical faults, is there any truth in these rumours ? Also headlights letting in water. Any comments welcome. Mac.
Hello Mac and welcome to the forum Yep there has been reports of corrosion on chromed items even on relatively new bikes that have never seen any rain Get down close and personal especially where the spoke nipples come through the rim, if there’s the slightest discolouration the corrosion could be inside the rim.
Hi and welcome. If you are concerned about corrosion on the new spoke wheels on T100/T120, have a look at the Street twin or speed twin. Both bikes have mag wheels... Still 900 or 1200 motors.
Lachlan David MacCormack Welcome to the family. I got two Bonnie's one 2010 and one 2018 faultless and great machines. Do keep us all in the loop. Regards Joe.
