I am experiencing a problem when re-fitting the front wheel on my 2000 Speed Triple.
I have replaced the wheel bearings having had the wheel powder coated. When fitting the wheel everything is ok until I tighten the axle bolt.
With everything loose the wheel spins freely but as soon as I tighten the axle bolt the wheel seizes and will not spin. I had the bearings presses in so know that they are seated correctly in the wheel.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem and know of a fix?

    Cheers Gary

Could it be the thickness of the powder coating causing the wheel to be bigger than it was with just a coat of paint on it, making it effectively too big to fit, or it is misaligning the discs enough to make the brake pads rub on them, locking the wheel? Did you clean the pc off the wheel behind the discs themselves? 'Tis over 20 years since I had any wheels powder coated (Benelli 900 Sei), but I had to remove some of the coating to get things to fit. Perhaps it's thinner these days, as I say it's been a while, but it may be worth a look.

I agree with stevethegoolie, but just to suggest something silly are the bearings the correct way round ? not sure about your model but some wheel bearings are handed i.e. they have a thrust side ?
