Front Preload Adjustment

Hi all, forgive my triumph newbie-ness, but every bike ive had, has had marker rings around the preload collar so you can see the setting on each side.
My speed triple doesnt have this. When you turn the 19mm adjuster it just goes round at one height.
Is this right?
Do I just turn them all the way in and count the turns out again?
