    Hi,
looking at rebuilding front calipers, waiting for kit to arrive.
    Q. is it advisable to split calipers, or, should I rebuild without going that far,
seems like a good way to really get every- thing clean?

I would only split the calipers if the kit contains the small o rings that will be sandwiched between the two halfs.

    it does, thank you
haynes says dont! in bold type. but dont say why it should nt be a proplem to do without splitting just feel it would be thorough.

+1 with Keith. I don't feel it's necessary to split a calliper to keep them in good nick and I would be too concerned about their security after splitting them.

If you clean them regularly and don't let the pads get too worn down they'll last forever.

I feel your pain mate I really do, but bit by bit you'll get it sorted, I've no doubt.

Take a deep breath, fill a glass with your favourite tipple and pour.

heres the bleeding instructions (pun intended)
    http://www.helperformance.com/bleeding-instructions.html
spent an hour this evening payed more attention to master banjo, also greased the nipples, thick, to stop air leaking in through the thread back into caliper I think this worked left it tied back. Happier :D

learning learning its all jolly good sport. just got bike back the mechanic said he couldnt get it to bleed any better than it was already, he didnt think it was a problem.
