Hello all! Im thinking it would look good if i put some flat bars (preferable black) on my 2011 speedy 1050. im 6ft 3 so im thinking the extra stretch wouldn't be much of a problem, im more worried about how much it may effect the handling. Im also unsure of what size diameter they need to be and what make to go for im thinking renthals? any help would be greatly appreciated
Renthal do a fat bar but Rizoma fat bars are cheaper and they do 3 different heights, putting more weight over the front should improve the handling Morespeed Racing in will do deals on them
I have Renthal Fatbars, or Yard-Bars as they used to be known, on the Griso. Mine at least have a satin finish, they look classy on the satin finished bike, but might not suit yours if its flat paint. They're 1 1/8ths (28mm) on the clamping area, and 3/8ths (22.2mm) on the bar ends.
so what sizes do i need for mine 28mm tapered to 22mm? cheers im away at sea ATM so sat on ebay ordering shit for when im home and cant just go and measure. haha cheers
Yes they are the 28/22mm tapered bars, here is a link. http://www.moorespeedracing.co.uk/rizoma_triumph_street_twin/rizoma-fatbars-15mm-height.html
Thank you for the link, only im thinking more completely flat bar with no lift or rake? is there such a thing? Cheers
Something not quite right with your 3/8ths to 22.2mm conversion, should be 3/4" ? A great piece of kit to have for all enthusiastic bike mechanics is a set of digital calipers. Dirt cheap now at ~£20 and you can quickly switch between metric and imperial. Gives you a good accurate measurement for internal, external and depths.
im away at sea so cant actually measure anything, im just trying to order toys for when i get home your right i bought some mitutoyo calipers about 5 years ago for something like 150 now there cheep as chips, handy tool cheers
hello mate, ive just checked these out and they are exactly what im after. are these the correct sizes i need? 29mm i believe it says? 2011 1050 triple
Yes they are the ones and they will fit, take no notice of there 29mm as they are under that . Don't forget they do different colours as well.
All ordered ive been look on google images and seen some really nice stuff done but were do they get the patrs? ive seen a nice Corbin seat fitted to a triple but couldnt find it on there site. also need some nice back ends. another idea ive mine is to make it a single seat with all the lights in the undertray. but i cant find any good sites to get the stuff? any ideas? cheers
