picked the bike up last Friday, planned ahead and booked the first service for next sat morning.

Trouble is, I'm now at 509 miles and the spanners come on so can't ride the thing for a week!!! How will I cope?

Gotta satisfy myself by fitting the new Carbon stuff I bought along with the evotech rad and oil cooler guards, and the headlight/sidelight bulbs as recommended by Antony Gothard. :p

Hopefully I'll set myself a gallery up so you can have a gander at the yellow peril. ;)

Hope you're enjoying the lovely weather!

The 500 miler is tricky - I ended up not using my bike for two days and having the service done at 492 miles! Dealer said that they would allow it to run to about 530 but after that it might be an issue.

Yeah don't wanna risk giving them ANY excuse to not honour the warranty should it be required in the future.

Not that it's likely mind, had quite a few trumpets and not had a bit of bother to date. :)

My 12,000 mile service was done at nearly 13,500 miles. I spoke to my dealer and he said not to worry about it.
First service might be a bit different though.

First service they change the oil to a thicker one, could be why they don't want you to run much past the 500, oil will be full of tiny metal particles so removing them is probably key around 500.

    Hi Bob,
wouldnt worry about it, mine had 750 miles on it by the time i took it in, i had booked it in at 450 miles but by the time they got it in, i had put the rest on. Asked danny on the phone at Youles and he said no problem. Does not invalidate the warranty.. 500 miles is just a guide
    all the best
