Managed 100 miles yesterday and another 100 today. First 20 miles there was a prominent noise which seemed to be coming from the right side and when going round a roundabout seemed to get quieter. Last 30 miles the noise seemed to go. Today not so noticeable but still there, sounds like a flywheel type noise chi - chi - chi - chi - chi - chi !!! Weird. The dealer fitted the covers wondering whether Something not put on correctly ?

Anyway I'm really pleased with it, looks amazing, handles really well and reasonably comfortable. I did get some numbness in my right hand after about an hour and a half but no real issue, shoulder was more painful but no after effects.

The exhausts seem to be getting a little noisier.....:):)

Thanks DD - actually when it was delivered I checked the chain and thought it seemed tight, just checked and now has some play in it.....Ill see what it's like on Saturday and if still doing it go straight to a dealer.

Unfortunately, because of the waiting list I had to buy 200 miles away which is fine until something goes wrong then you get the usual , did you buy it from us' scenario, then it's oh can you wait 2 weeks.. Not that happy with the dealer, didn't set the control unit after fitting LED indicators, rear tyre at 1 bar, marks on the seat which look like grease and now the chain. As you say sloppy PDI. Mind you they did give me £1000 of parts for nothing inc fitting.

I can take it to Birmingham, Pidcocks in Notts or Stratford Upon Avon.....any suggestions ?

I bought from Stratford and the sales guys are fine, but the jury's out on the workshop. The bike came with incorrect tyre pressures and the bar end mirrors hadn't been tightened. It's going in for the first service next week so we shall see...

The bike looks great with the smaller arse, tri .im happy with the original so far but i did make one for an 08 i had. That noise seems like a wonky brake disc to me, hardly likely tho .

The chain appears to have enough slack without rider, approx 25mm which is what it says in the handbook. Done 300 miles now and the noise has almost gone but a very slight chi - chi - chi - chi which seems to come and go but think I'm getting paranoid and listening out for every noise.

I used the back brake a lot today to see if any noise coming from the rear but seems OK.

There's condensation around the digital displays which disappears after a while and the right hand Spring seems to fowl the black sleeve inside ?

Still love it though and blimey does it attract some attention...

The fouling is prob off the chain. I was concerned about the firmer ride on mine but have got more used to it now.

After its first service today the dealer suggested the noise, which a couple of customers have complained about is the front right hand brake caliper just touching the disc. They took the wheel out and the caliper off and put back together which now gives it a very marginal space compared to the other side. Dealer said they check all Thruxtons at PDI. Perhaps why more noticeable when leaning round roundabouts.

    Thumbs up to Triumph Birmingham.
