Factor Torque Spec For Exhaust Clamps

    Anyone knows factory torque spec for silencer clamps for Street Twin. OEM silencer.
    22Nm ?

    No can't help here. I just tighten up till it stops leaking and happy to leave it at that. I use a dab of silicon on mine it seals great and is removable at a later date if needed.

    although I know some manufactures DO go that high on exhaust clamps, I personally won't

    Start with snug/~10N.M....if it isn't tight, you will know because it will be puking out exhaust clouds (personal experience LOL)...

    P.S. I have seen exhaust clamps torque specs from 10 N.M. all the way to 30 N.M...cuckoo if you ask me.

    Exhaust clamps are bolts into nut's , not into an engine casing or frame .. so in that case I've always just tightened up until ft as a stripped bolt/nut is no big deal ! On an exhaust system , clamp it up so it doesn't leak as @joe mc donald stated , no leak is good , the mufflers are secured by brackets?

    Yeah thay are secured by brackets but there is a lot off vibrasjons from heades so thay came undone.

    The Haynes manual shows a torque of 10nm for the exhaust clamp bolts.
