Hi George, I think if it was me I would proceed like this with Triumph.

    1. Get the full name and address of the UK After-Sales and Warranty at Triumph's HQ - I would NOT speak to them at this stage; Address the letter and envelope to him/her and on the envelope mark it "Private and confidential" to ensure it gets into the right hands.

    2. Write a formal, structured letter, detailling the history of the bike, where you bought it from (if a Triumph dealer) serving details and exactly what happened when the bike broke down. Include any useful pictures.

    3. Include a description of the first point of contact with Triumph.

    4. Describe in detail what steps you would like Triumph to take and in what time-frame. Be reasonable and they might be reasonable in return - don't shout yer tits off !!! Be measured in all your comments.

Send the letter recorded delivery - obviously keeping a copy for your own files.

This will be the foundation for all future communications, so take care with it. As this is such an usual case it might be that they decide to help - what have you got to lose ?

    Cheers and good luck

    Dave
