i have a 2012 Thruxton ... There is slight corrosion/pitting on the aluminium engine side cover and on the top of the fake carbs

Are these covers lacquered? Or plain metal ... Can I hit them with some autosol or do I need to live with it or strip and polish ?

Gah ... What a pain ... Thanks for letting me know ... Now do I leave it a year until it gets worse... Or make the most of the winter and do it now

Do it now, then all will be good for spring. Check your front spokes for rust,it's a known issue around the nipples, more time with solvol!! Afterwards give them a good covering of acf50 to protect over the winter.

Perhaps it's an initial hassle, but in the long run, a far nicer and easier solution.
I had valve covers powder coated silver, then clear. They look (and stay looking) highly polished!
