Wondering if any Sparkies on this site. I have a number of small wattage LED lights in my driveway which are operated by a switch in the house. I am having an electric garage door fitted in the next few weeks and was wondering if it would be possible to wire the drive lights into the garage door motor's light so that they all came on together but still keeping the light switch for use when the garage door is not operating. Was wondering if a feed could be took prior to the garage motor's bulb and wired into a relay or something similar to operate the drive lights. Am au fait with 12v dc wiring but ac current not so much.

You are asking the length of a piece of string! Part of the answer depends on your current installation and even whether the drive lighting meets ever changing regulations.
The basic idea is that you can run lighting off a power circuit but not power off a lighting circuit - it is all to do with load and cable sizing. Throw in the need for RCD protection and you start asking questions of your current distribution unit.
You need a sparky to eyeball your current installation to decide not IF it can be done (almost certainly) but HOW (& at what cost). The parts are not that expensive but labour and know how gets pricier.
