Blimey, that was tight! As I work my way through my new to me Daytona 1000, I thought I'd change the chain and sprockets, as the chain was tired and a bit stretchy. I remembered from my old 1996 Trident the sprocket nut would be a bit tight, but even with the chain locked by a pair of bolts, a mate leaning heavily on a 6' easing bar and me tapping away at the socket, it would not shift. Finally had to get down to machine mart (other tool suppliers are available) and get a 500 ft/lb windy hammer. I even had to turn that up to 11 to get it off. But calm has now descended and the new chain and sprockets are on.
Now who thought it was a good idea to have the dipstick outboard of the sprocket? My Trident must have been one of the first to have it on the other side.
Just the carbs left to balance and I can put it all back together.....
