Hello. Massive Newbie here. No bike (sooooon) No experience. Just wondering something I can't find the answer for anywhere else. Where can I find replacement seats for a Bonnie ? I'm looking for Brown leather seats, to replace the stock one. Thank you very much.
Just did a Google search : https://www.google.fr/search?q=Brow...neville&gws_rd=cr,ssl&ei=yUgRVaHSJc_iaoz6gtAM
Thank you for replying thebiglad, I was more asking it to get experienced feedback. Such as "I bough this and it is awesome". I did found one or two sellers on google, but nothing really conclusive. Either not much choice or no way to have a review of quality prior to purchase.
If your any good at stitching I have plenty of sheet leather which I can sell you to make your own design with? Eric
Be warned - I had a very nice leather seat made up for my T140 years ago - looked great and really comfy as long as you didn't use the bike in the rain - tried everything to waterproof the leather but somehow it always got through and soaked into the foam, leaving me with a wet sponge dilemma for days on end after rain. Soon got fed up looking like I'd just wet myself every time I sat on that wet seat and changed over to a non-leather custom seat which was fine. If you can find a way to waterproof the hide I am sure there are plenty of leather workers out there who could re-cover and re-profile your existing seat and pan with the required material. Try a saddler or upholsterer - they have the skillset.
Thank for those info guys. A couple of questions: 1: How easy is it to change your saddle. to take it off and back on. Does it come off easy, or does it takes half an hour to change it ? @Pete865 Thank you for the feedback. I supposed your even tried all the water repellent sprays for leather. That sucks, but I can totally imagine how that would happen. @Tigcraft You sell leathers ? Do you have a store or something. Making my own saddle is a solution I have seen done by other famous bike builders. My gf and I are pretty handy with our hands... maybe it's the solution.
Thanks for the tip... I'll do that. I know there is a Official dealer in Edinburgh, but I don't know about Glasgow. I'll need to check that out.
I bought this and its awesome.........or it is very comfortable for me, an old guy with a bad back. http://www.mustangseats.com/Category/Seats
Thanks ColLamb, to be honest I'm looking for flat shape cafe racer style kind of seats. In brown leather. This kind of things:

Cool, I should get my bonnie soonish (months to come) I'll come back here talk further about this seat thing. Thank you all, and if anyone got more info, I'm listening.
I took a stock Bonnie seat to a professional leather upholsterer and discussed the options. He steered me away from leather for all the issues with getting it wet etc. He got me a load of samples and I then chose the one I wanted. It's a faux leather but I asked him to make it up like a bobber style. Pic attached.
That sounds very reasonable, if it's a good quality job. Does the guy have a website we could go to, to see more of his work? Dave
hi, it's a standard bonny seat, just black cover removed which he used as a template. I showed him some pics and he then made it from that. No extra padding etc. the company is a small classic car upholsterers in southport, merseyside.
It's a one man band based in southport, merseyside. Kew coach trimmers 01704 536787. Mainly specialises in leather trims on cars but is well adverse to doing bike seats. The quality is excellent and he's great to deal with. One of the old trades still alive and well.
