I know ill probably get shot down in flames but why do people cover up there number plate when they post a picture of it. there's a bloke on here now selling his speed triple with his number plate covered up. on a forum like this there's only a limited number of people that will see it yet there quite happy to ride around on the street's were there's hundreds of thousands will see it.

Some people scan sites like this to ether copy the plate and then put it on a stolen bike and ride around. As they will know it’s insured. My next door neighbor put his van on auto trader last year and he had the police come round 3 weeks later saying he had done a runner from 6 petrol station In London when the van was still sitting out side his house in west Yorkshire. Lucky for him I have cctv that records for a month at a time so someone police office checked my cctv for the dates and seen the van never moved. Yes they can get one off the road but they do not want to bump into the same car, bike, van in the same town. So will get a reg from out of town. Also ring a vehicle with some other poor. Sods reg. and other reasons I am sure.

Quite interesting and informative. I always thought people hid their plates so that others can’t check the vehicle’s MOT status online:joy::joy::joy:

No because if you want to bid on a bike you just ask for the reg. I ask all the time for the reg of bikes and if it’s not given I just don’t bid on them.but 99.9% of people give it to you when you ask for it and tell them you want to do an mot check most don’t mind. and they will look at your feed back to check your not a twat. and if they are there blocked

As well as what’s written below your first post bob this forum is open to anyone to have a look at, not just registered members, hence the reason we always tell new members to remove their postcode as it can reveal their address and lead would be thieves to steal their bike.
Oh, and would you like to buy “some bloke’s” Speed Triple ;)
