Sprint GT Correct Battery Type?

    Here is a thing that has got me slightly confused and I was hoping you knowledgeable types could assist with an answer.

    My bike was a wee bit sluggish starting the other day (purely because I left a device on i think) however when I was looking at my battery (as supplied on the bike from the dealer) I noted that it is a Yuasa YTX12-BS.

    When I look up my Haynes manual it states that the correct battery for a Sprint GT is the YTX14-BS. A similar search through the Halfords website tells me the same thing.

    Has my bike been originally supplied with the wrong battery?

    It would be helpful if you stated the model and year of your bike.

    Hiya. I did state the model (its a Sprint GT) but the year is 2013. :)

    Sorry BF I didn't see it initially but yes, of course you did.

    According to the owners handbook the battery spec is: 12v, 12 a/h so that would accord with a Yuasa YTX12-BS.
