    Hi folks

New to Triumphs so would like any info / advise, I have a 2010 Thunderbird 1600, I find the gearbox rather "clunky" very noisy when changing gears, is this normal or does something need looking at, thanks. Steve.

Hi Steve, first neutral second is clunky. Rest are ok.
It's not the smoothest of gearboxes.
Just make sure it's adjusted correctly with free play etc

As Gary says, I have a Thunderbird storm. Neutral to first then first to second clunky but the rest are good

Check the clutch free-play. I decided to run mine with less than the prescribed amount and all gears select almost silently.
