Hi everyone Just thought that i would share with the group that today I went for a long very enjoyable ride in Tassie and my 1998 Trophy1200 clicked over 150,000 km ( which is 93,000 miles) Pulls like a train, smooth power delivery, doesn't use any oil - why would I ever sell her for a new electronic - laden motorcycle? These motors are so massively over engineered , the valve clearances are still at spec! It seems like it will go forever. I use full synthetic oil changed every 10000km also a new oil filter. Every now and again I get the 'new bike urge' but when I go for a ride on the Trophy it just goes away Here to the next 150,000 KM Cheers Gary
Hi Gary, Early in 96' there was a 92' trident 900 that had done 250,000 as a courier bike in London. That would be miles. So you have a ways to go ...!
Hey Capt Yes I have a long way to go to catch up with that Trident - I do remember the story - but I am enjoying working on it
Well done, the first "new generation" Triumphs were brilliant..i'm sure you will have many more happy miles
