Clear Wrapping?

Have done this, but never in the clear stuff. Used signwriting stuff, to protect rear faring and tank during touring holidays and also the carbon look wrap stuff on bike side panel, cos Suzuki use the cheapest grey plastic for them.

Not as easy as it looks and you need a lot more than you actually think you do. Watch some video's of applications and the pro's use a sheet about 2~3 times bigger than the article to be covered. But take your time and it is doable. If you do cock it up, heat back up and try again, unless you put a big crease in it, which is possible. Found using the wife's hairdryer on a medium setting and slow speed worked fine. And degrease panel thoroughly before you start.

IIRC - Sure you can buy pre-cut clear plastic panels to stick on ????

 

I've used the Triumph paint protection kit (Ventureshield) on SWMBO's Street Triple, just on the tanks sides where her knees rub. Obviously quite a bit thicker than what you would use for an all-over wrap, if you look really hard you can see the edges but invisible otherwise, would recommend.

 

I just phoned my local Triumph dealer about this for my Speed Triple 2016 R and they also said it wasn't available, but suggested an Oxford product that comes as a clear sheet and you cut to size...said I would think about it.

 

I've wrapped my old KTM rear end and tank side panels before (not in clear vinyl), personally I think it would be challenging as your first try for the entire bike and you should expect it to take a day or two at least to get a quality finish. I've also got the mindset wrapping is a cheaper alternative to a decent respray, I don't see it as a paint-protection solution unless your using a professional grade product that supercar/hypercar owners throw a fair few thousand towards and then 100 labour hour charges on top.. compared to the £7 for a couple of meters on eBay. IMO there's better products for that above.

 

Have you considered stomp grips?

 

I had stomp grips fitted to gsxr750 and they scuffed the inside of my leathers. Wasn't that keen on them but they came with the bike. I think I'm gonna go with the ventureshield
