Hi everyone. I'm back again. I've finally had a run out on the bike, it keeps stalling unless the choke is at about 75% +. My neighbours will love it, it idles at 3000. It also pops when revving. It has been sitting for a while. Jimbo
Hi Jim and welcome to the forum Right you need to look at the following things. Bike doesn't Idle, It's going to be at best guess is that it is a blocked pilot jet or jets. Best suggestion is get the carbs out and get them cleaned and checked over (also check the inlet rubbers for cracks) Also might be an idea to check the air cleaner while you have the carbs out. I would also suggest that you get your valve clearances checked as the inlets do close up after a while. Would also be an idea to check your petrol tap whilst tank is off as these can sometimes go wrong. These are very good bikes but they are getting a bit old so you have to keep an eye on them and keep the maintenance up to them and you will have a very enjoyable bike to ride. Cheers Steve
I'm sorted now. I've since had it out for a good run and it works and starts fine. I can't stop smiling when I'm on it.
All good, glad you got it sorted :upyeah: So what was it? Carbs? Family of mice in the air cleaner?
