    Hello!

My t100 has lovely brightwork wire spoked wheels, but I feel the need to meddle. I love the look of a gold, scrambler-y rim, like you see on forex this smashing r9t -

Or this (probably more) smashing Ducati -

So here is my dunce question:

    What's easier/cheaper/more sensible*?

To try to somehow colour the rims I already have to make them gold? By painting or powder coating or anodising or wev?

Or to bite the I suspect doubtless more expensive bullet, and buy new, gold rims?

*yes, if I wanted "sensible" I should have bought a Fiesta.

I would go for new rims and a tubeless conversion all in one go.

In that case, I'm in need of help for what that might involve.

I've seen wheels and other bits and pieces that have been "after market" anodised and they looked great and should be just as durable as OEM if the process is done properly. Going for new rims with tubeless tyres is a good call though.

You could experiment with some vinyl if you’ve the patients for a temporary fix just to see what it’ll look like. I’ve never used the stuff but if they wrap complicated vehicles then it can be done on wheels too and far more shade options than ‘just gold’
