    hello every one !
(Yes I know I have been absent a while).

Yesterday came my insurrance renewal papers.
Let me tell you about my details.

    -I'm a French citizen.
    - I passed my licence a year and half ago.
-My UK licence is only 2years old (exchanged for french).
-My Bike is parked on a driveway
-I don't use it for work purposes
    -I need pilion cover.
-I lock it with 3 different sold secure locks.

Last year I paid the Staggering amount of £1600. :eek:o_O
Fair enough, new rider no no-claim discount and al that.

Yesterday, I receive my renewal papers.... Brace yourselves.

    £2400!!!! :confused::mad:o_O:eek::eek::eek:

Alright, they're taking the piss...
    Called them right away.

unpolite version of what I told them:
"listen you morons, I will not pay that freaking robbery, get your price down or I'll give my money to someone else".

After 45mn disucssion, i'm down to £900. took it.

I'm a fairly new rider, I never own a vehicle, never took a loan before that... But maybe I'm not the only one. so maybe this can help someone. Never accept your insurrance offer, and push them HARD.

In the end Carole Nash had a "decent" price for mer, and to be fair they dealt with my third party accident fast (I suppose, 3 months) to be back on a new (as in another) bike) and the lawyers they got me managed some niiiiice compensation for my injuries. As far as I am concerned today, Carole Nash is pretty good. Though... I'm broke now :D:D

    That's it. :)

Well you did alright as Carole Nash wouldn't insure me as my bike was kept on a driveway, took 50 mins on the phone to find that out!

    Go figure!?!
So the only thing we have in common, apart from make of bike, is probably the language used!:D

I always made sure that was always very clear.
But anyways, I suppose it would always pretends it has been stolen in front of my work or something.
It is very clear to me, that in any claim that is not very clearly a third party's fault, any insurrer will do everything they can not to pay...

Byt the way, thanks for reading guys.

Hello Billy, glad you managed to wrestle those prices down !!

Is £900 a reasonable price? Only you can answer that one mate. I know there are some on here that have multiple bikes on one policy and still only pay £2-300 per year.

So long as you're happy that's all that matters :):):):):):)

Biggest ripoff in this country is insurance!
Every year I challenge myself to better last years quote
Set aside a few hours on a weekend just keep telling them that another broker can do it cheaper
Last year I only managed to get £2 cheaper but still think it's worth it
I paid £89 fully comp last time

Save yourself money by using a low rate credit card instead of paying monthly. I have all my insurance paid thru one card, and just divide each one by 10 and pay that every month (2 month off every year).
