I ended up going with Carol Nash as breakdown/recovery is included in the price. Trying to get breakdown insurance on a vehicle over 10 years old seems to be nigh on impossible!

This company cover vehicles upto 16yrs, then I look at Footman James for historic insurance that covers breakdown as well.
In the mean time BRD looks good for £38 allowing a change of bike during its yearly cover.

16 years is not bad! Sadly the bike is 20 years old and the car is 10 years old. AA/RAC seem reluctant to cover cars north of 10 years old, though if in doubt go for the member being covered and not the vehicle. Not too sure what SWMBO did with the RAC cover! 'Tis her car anyway!!
