Has anyone on the forum had any experience with Box helmets, specifically the flip front Box SZ-1? I made the mistake of buying one in a fit of patriotic lunacy last year and have not been able to use it in any weather without the thing fogging up badly. Even in the summer it will fog up in 25 or 30 mins, yesterday it fogged up before the end of my road and I had to come back and change it for my 4 year old Caberg - that didn't fog up at all. I have tried to use the Pinlock system as the product was meant to be Pinlock ready. Two genuine Pinlock inserts have been tried - neither of them will fit even though I am assured that they are the correct one for the helmet, both seem to be 1.5 or 2mm too long. Needless to say the inserts can't be returned as the packaging has been opened and the protective film damaged when trying to locate it between the pins.

Oxford Products seem to be the source of these helmets, but I have been unable to communicate the problem to them. They tell me to return my Box helmet to the retailer under warranty, but since there is no manufacturing defect that is not an option. The problem seems to be bad design.

If any of you guys have any experience with these helmets I would be interested to hear it.

My full face is a Box helmet, think it is a Dagger .It too steams up almost instantly even with the vents fully open. Personally i think they are a cheap end of the market helmet and perhaps we get what we pay for. I got mine from the inernet, ebay, so couldnt really do much about returning it as it would cost almost as much as buying another helmet, lol. Sorry dont know about the pinlock system and the fitting of it
