Bonny Oil Change

    Help required
    Before I do my oil change can some one help

    Draining oil is this done via the sump I have the oil in frame not quite sure

    Also where is the top up measure

    Any help would be great

    Can you give full details of your bike please Beefy, sounds like an original Bonny?

    Yes it's a 1980 t140 750cc oil in frame model

    Hi, Beefy ..... really not sure but I always thought that there was a drain plug at the bottom of the frame tube behind the engine. I also thought that the filler cap had a dipstick built in to it. However I could be very wrong as it is many years since I knew anyone with an oif Bonnie.
    If all else fails look out for someone who already has such a beast (or even a late BSA 650) and ask them. You could also try picking the brains of a parts supplier/dealer for such bikes.

    Has it not got a drain plug on the frame on the down tube at the rear of the motor been 30 year since i had mine

    Thanks it got a drain plug there and a dip stick
    Many thanks wasn't quite sure if the engine had a plug as well

    I'll give it ago over the weekend

    You don't know how the best way to free the clutch plates,do u
    Someone said put it in neutral pull the clutch in and kick it until it frees???

    If youre going to try to free off the clutch that way make sure the ignition is OFF and there is a clear run in front of you and that youre standing astride the bike holding the front brake on ........... just in case.

    Standard procedure with older Triumphs. Well, it was with mine - when I were a lad!
