Bonneville T100 2010 Bad Engine Sound, Please Help

Dear Gentlemen
I want to buy a used 2010 Triumph Bonneville t100 but it has terrible engine sound.
The Owner told me, its just a valves and after adjustment it will be normal but i am afraid, its more serious.
The bike is 29 000km but last service maintenance was at 1700km
Please see attached zip video and advice what can be the problem and how much will repair cost

Hi Stefan, well that certainly sounds like very badly adjusted valves to me.
I'm not sure that things will be right after they have been adjusted correctly as damage may have already been done.
Also, the bike hasn't been serviced for 27300 km, so what else has been neglected? - oil changes, brake fluid changes, chain lubrication and adjustment?
Personally I wouldn't risk buying it but others may have a different view.

Thank you very much for your replies and advices
Here in my country, currently only this bonneville is for sale and its really for a great price ($4500). I asked the owner to make proper maintenance, show me service protocol and also clear picture of open engine, to see if camshaft is not damaged. Just after that we can talk about a purchase.
But you are right that motorcycle which was not serviced for 27 000 km can and probably will cause a lot of trouble in the future.
