There are now at least three separate threads relating to corrosion and condensation in this forum which to say the least is quite worrying. I got one of the first T 120s and other than the problem with the paint on the tank which was quickly resolved and current recall has not given me any problems in the 3500 miles I've covered. That said I am a typical fair weather ride but some trips have turned into wet ones.
Is there a pattern to these problem bikes ? Am I right in guessing they are bikes delivered in the second half of the year when demand seems to have caught Triumph out (I believe the bikes were being flown in to cope with demand)
Is it a particular batch perhaps ? Are Thruxtons and street twins having similar problems ? My local dealer doesn't seem to be coming across these problems at the moment so is it geographical ?
Between me and my son this is the 10th Triumph I've had and all have been reliable and well built so I truly hope standards aren't starting to slip.
Having read a few article where senior Triumph guys are interviewed they come over as having a genuine passion for what they are producing. If problems are starting to crop up lets hope that same passion will get it sorted before damage is done to the reputation of one of motorcycling's rare British success storys

Overall I'm very happy with my T120. The corrosion on the rear wheel and spokes on mine is very slight but it will only get worse. I'm like you John T, I don't deliberately ride in the rain but living in Scotland it's inevitable that it rains at inconvenient times and bike gets wet. If bike was a few years old I'd maybe accept the corrosion, but on a bike with around 2.5k miles and less than 4 months old I do find it worrying.

I'll see how I get on with Triumph dealer next week as bike is going in for sub harness recall and will point out the corrosion to them then. Short of replacing the wheels, I don't see how this will be easily resolved.
