Hi, Just to say that I ran the battery flat on the Bonnie yesterday after trying to start it without the choke - not intentionally, I just forgot to pull it out. (I forget a lot of things these days). Ended up with the dreaded whirring/clicking of the solenoid. Now I know from my years of owning old cars that it is not a jammed starter motor and that all though the headlights on etc and the battery seems fine that it's not. Luckily, my car battery charger has a motorcycle option - a standard car one will damage your bike battery - so all was good after a 2 hour top up charge. Have now ordered a NOCO G1100UK Genius charger which will connect to the socket already installed on the bike so no need to take the seat off and use the crocodile clips, just plug in and switch on. Will let you know how good it is or not.
Howdy, I have a gizmo fitted to my 09 Bonnie which means bike is started on pilot instead of headlamp, for obvious reasons. Was already on bike but I believe it easily fits to existing headlamp connector etc. However yer do need to remember to flick main beam on and off after starting, to get headlamp.
Hi, Sounds interesting - I would obviously forget to flick the main beam to get the headlamp on though!
