Bonneville/ america engine swap..

    Hi..my first posting..to make a long story short..i'm transplanting an " america 270deg. Engine into a "Bonneville" 360 deg.wired frame...and am not quite sure how to rewire in order to make this new configuration work..i have a fair idea..but the particulars escape me..Do i...wire in an extra coil( if so how)...can i remap the current Bonneville igniter to run an America sequence?... I'm relatively sure that physically the connector junctions are the same for both igniters..so it should be relatively plug and play..its the finesse wiring differences that i need some direction on..any illumination or referral would be greatly appreciated..thank you in advance..

    Ok I'm no expert but surley the 270 or 360 is down to the crank rotation rather than the wiring.
    The spark will only happen @TDC and as the engine is a twin rather than a triple I don't see how wiring an extra coil will make a difference.
    You need to make sure the engine managemt is set right.. You can only do that via Tune ECU or tune boy.. I'd try running an american map on your current ECU, but save your current set up firstly..
    If the connectors line up then it should be a simple reprogram to alter the ignition sequence to match the crank rotation rather than a major rewire.....

    Hope that helps and maybe someone with more knowledge will chip in and confirm...
