Sure is a thing of beauty the Harley. Yes as the peeps are saying it will all come together for you and in the end worth all the hassle and uproar. When we did our extension I just felt depressed every day. It just seemed to go on for ever and ever. The house was always dirty and the garden a cesspit. I left all the visits and charm to our builder also a family friend he seemed to know what to say. Now it's all finished it's great best room in the house.

Must have owned a dozen Harley's.
Never yet got more than 15 k before they failed big time...but then I do thrash my bikes
Tomorrow I take my 15 k miles tbird 1600 for a big tour two up.
Let's see if it does any better.
Meantime my Tiger 955i just goes on doing the business.....30 k on it last year.
At 66 I've had all the colonoscopy I'll ever want.
I feel your pain....no, really I do...or did.
Oh and apparently I've torn the tendons on both wrists doing said 30 k ....as Trotsky said

My bestist mate @crispey and I were talking to a guy today who was on a Harley, he’d had it over 10 years and it had done over 100K miles without any major problems.
He was on his way to a Harley rally at Kirby Lonsdale and ridden up from South Wales.

 

And I bet he rides it at 55 mph.
Sorry but they just can't hack it if you use them like a real bike

 

Don’t know how he rides it we only met him for a few minutes.

Just saying what he told us.

 

I understand that....I was with a Harley biased club for many years....few did big miles...those who did did the miles at low speed.
I used to break one Harley a year before I gave up on them.

 

I think the reliability issues stem from the 70s when they did have problems, I've had 3 Harleys over the last 18 years and did a fair amount of mileage on all of them without any problems,and I don't always sit at 55mph! @half ton I had to look up "Twinkies" agree with you the engines are certainly no slouches!
