Yesterday, Thursday my wife and I arrived at the site of a bike accident. A BMW had turned right in front of a bike and the rider had gone flying. The bike was a brand new Speed Twin with only 100 miles on the clock. My assessment, based on my own crash history , is that the bike was not going fast and may even have been only doing the 30 limit. (The rider did not go far). The BMW driver said he didn't see the bike because of another car in front of him. Anyway, the cops arrived and took over and I imagine the driver is facing a careless driving prosecution at the minimum. The rider was called Rob and came from Morpeth so if anyone knows him - I took photos at the scene.

Judging by the way he went down I reckon some broken ribs. My wife was concerned he might have punctured a lung but he was at least fairly conscious although confused.
