Has anyone got any of these fitted I wonder?
They look quite nice in the Motone pictures in my opinion.
Not sure how effective they are as a heat sink but I might just get some I think.

    Fantastic!
    We like to be offended.
I always wanted a Raleigh Chopper but it was just a dream really, another of many in the early 1970's

Just seen some slimline ones on Squaredeals site, they are much more attractive, unquestionably!

I thought my loon pants were the dog's doodahs.......and a brilliant excuse for being slow to retrieve my wallet!

My first proper bike was a BSA 250 Victor I bought in 75, I soon discovered why all the other bikers wore their jeans tucked into big boots as not only was trying to kickstart or change gear in platform soled shoes immensely difficult but getting flares caught on the footrests as you stopped was pretty hazardous and potentially embarrassing lol! Those big collars were also a nightmare as you were in real danger of getting slapped to death by your own shirt if you rode too fast!

The joy of platform boots was stopping in puddles without geting wet feet.

They look like this, on the bike

Given that the bike is generally larger than a Meriden bike, I don't think they look excessive

That said, the 1200 Bonneville might be a different matter. The proportions and relationship of the fins, exhaust pipe and camboxes are slightly different and I rather think that smaller finned clamps would be better, visually

I had a great time in the 70s... then again, I always had better taste than to wear loon pants, p,atform soles or butterfly collar shirts....

I used very large cooling fins in the early 1970's bought from Modak Cycles in Melbourne. My headers would glow when riding hard using high octane fuel. Once I fitted the heat sink clamps no more problems with purple headers from the heat. You could feel the heat coming off the fins though. eBay has them

I would say that when I got my bike, the exhausts were markedly blued, and it certainly hasn't got any worse

Well, yes, I think you've made that point...

My bike has the AIS pipework removed, as it happens.

Square Deals slim line fins are top of my Christmas list.
Am I allowed to use the " C " word this early in the year?
