Hello, Getting close to me picking up my first Triumph Motorbike. I live in East Yorkshire and wondered if anyone could recommend the "best" dealership with regards to Servicing, customer relations and mechanical expertise. Looking forward to the Thunderbird arriving and am just sending out a few feelers regarding being a Triumph owner - any advice would be much appreciated.
I'm confused? Wouldn't the "Best Triumph dealer" be where you bought your bike ? A1 moto in York is very highly reputed and has received many awards for quality of service.
Sorry I should of mentioned I am buying the bike privately. I have visited York and found them very helpful.
I prefer Team Roberts at Conisbrough! More to do in York though whilst waiting for your steed to be returned. I have used Adi's Workshop at West Cowick, just outside Snaith, for many years now, both for my Trident 900 and my Daytona CE 955i (when I had it!). Excellent people and reasonably priced - certainly less than main dealers, though I suppose that's not difficult!
I've only been to A1 at York, seemed pleasant enough when I've called in fer a cuppa. Don't have my bikes done by dealers usually so can't help much on this. Welcome aboard What year Tbird? Put pic up when yer have time. I'm over near Filey. Call fer a brew if yer passin'
Hi Philip, I have bought a couple of bikes from A1 Moto & always found them really helpful. I am also from East Yorks. & are just in the process of trading in my 1600 T/bird I am finding it a bit too heavy for my wobbly old legs -- it rides really well though once moving. I will have some spare accessories for sale if you need anything. Welcome aboard & enjoy the T/bird. -- Dave.
Thank you Dave, I am after a set of rear passenger foot plates to keep the old doll happy and some type of bag to sit on the back sissy bar - black leather if possible to match the side panniers. Other than that I think the bike has everything else on it. Going for a test drive on Sunday so will hopefully complete the deal soon after that. As a T/B owner would you recommend a a front mudguard extender to help prevent stone damage on the radiator? As a matter of fact, you don't live at Beeford in East Yorkshire do you ??? Best Regards - Phil
Hi Phil. I have a chrome radiator guard on mine so didn't need a mudguard extender. Sorry i don't have any pillion plates -- sounds like only things of mine that may be of interest to you are a riders Triumph gel seat and matching pillion touring comfort seat. I live about 7 miles from Beeford -- might see you out and about -- at Seaways perhaps. Dave.
Yes I would be interested Dave the reason I asked where you lived, was I rang the bike shop in Beverley to see if was selling one . He said no but I fella from beeford was and I couldn't find you . I might of bought yours instead
Hi Phil, trading my T/bird in on Thursday -- so any deal would have to be tomorrow! Bit short notice I reckon? However I will post accessories on 'for sale' part of site later. Dave.
Email me some photos dave your asking price inc speedo reading in photos please Phil [email protected]
I guess all Triumph dealers are excellent, very professional and down in Stoke our BS Triumph is proud to say Europe biggest and the best, but a tad to far for you. You wont find a bad one. Enjoy your bike.
Well Chewy Due to the terrible weather forecast for Sunday I picked the bike up Saturday it had been sorn for 18 months out of service no mot . I needed to ride directly to a dealer/mot station my local branch which is york was to far Manchester branch were too busy couldn't look at the bike till August 13 and I thought were a bit rude. So guess where we ended up stoke and what a great outfit they are too very impressed with Paddy in the service dept. Hope to pick it Friday 31 July phil
