I went to start my bike yesterday morning and it was completely dead, not enough power to light up the clocks!
Checked the battery and it was dead! Its been stood for 3 weeks with no drain so I don't understand what could have caused it. I managed to jump it with my car and road it all day and it seems to have recharged the battery. The battery is only 18 months old so it shouldn't have gone and it was stood all winter with no problems.
    Has anybody any thoughts?

Had you inadvertently left the steering lock one click to far so the parking lights were on?
The only thing to do is check that it's charging properly, give it a full charge and see if it's retaining it. If it's ok in all 3 then maybe it's just a random thing like the above and hopefully won't happen again.

They dont like a constant drain they are built to bang out a start then recharge, not deliver long term constant drain. They do have a shelve-life and will fail at some point.

No alarm and steering lock wasn't on, I just hope I haven't done any damage jumping it with the car and the engine was running. I rode it all day with no problems, so fingers crossed?
