Got myself a 2012 Bonneville last December after 28 years of not having a bike.
Absolutely loving it, done just over 3k miles on it now, using it daily and just started to do a few mods after following your forum and watching Delboy on YouTube.
Scottoiler fitted, rear suspension changed to Hagon (3 setting type) and planning to put Hagon progressive springs in the front.
A couple of questions if anyone can help:
I ride solo and weigh about 12 Stone should I be changing the fork oil when I fit the progressive springs ?
Has anybody fitted the Riccor intiminators to their front forks ?
I am also looking at removing the air intake shite but am not sure if I will need to "re-map"
The Bonneville is an A2 EFI with cast alloy wheels.

Welcome to the forum, MickEng. Bonnies are such a pleasure to ride (and mod), we all share that passion. :)

I fitted a set of TEC progressive springs in the front recently, but didn't bother changing the fork oil. As long as you're careful and let the oil drip from the old springs, you should only lose a tiny amount.

Pics. before adding the Scottoiler and changing the rear shocks.
3 years old when I bought it with 2k miles on the clock and in immaculate condition.
The bonnie is now used virtually everyday and has cut my journey time to work by half. (Car used in really bad weather sorry to say)
I previously had a Triumph Daytona (500 twin) amongst many other bikes back in the day, but I am delighted with this beautiful machine proving itself to date on rides out in the Yorkshire Dales and Derbyshire Peak District.

    Hi Eric,
I'm in Liversedge which is about 12 miles from Holmfirth, you have some good biking roads out there leading into the Peak District.

Yes I'm very lucky to be living here although it wasn't always like that for me as I used to live in Bradistan.
I used to know a lad from Liversedge/heckmondwike who came to a sticky end once many years ago. He was run off the road by a car head on deliberately. I won't say what happened but you may of heard about it in the late 90's, his nickname was 'bandit'?

Can't say I recall the 'Bandit' incident but it certainly sounds severe.

    On a lighter note
Yorkshireman with piles goes to his local shop and asks "Dus tha sell arse cream"

Shopkeeper replies. "Aye lad, Magnum or Cornetto ?"

Now back to business what about the Riccor intiminators for the front forks ?

What about partying, orgies and stuff ?
Reply "Whoa, I'm up for owt like that"

Hi Mick, another mick here, family originally from Leeds / Yorkshire now live in the West of OZ , I have a product similar to the riccor intiminators, mine work well ! Had them pre-set before they were posted to me, from a Melbourne bike suspension speciality shop, if you are getting yours from similar but based closer to your home base, do it , advise shop of you're weights and riding style/preferences , I use 5w fork oil as recommended by suspension tech when he supplied them, all good done 70,000 or more klms on them, change my oil every 25,000. Sooner if front becomes unresponsive. Oil's go off, turn's watery and flow rates change.Giving suspension tech weights helps get the right spring to go with the intiminators.

    Hi Capt, thanks for that.
Did you keep the OEM front springs in or change to progressive springs ?
I just want to take advantage of any technical improvements rather than just change springs if there is a gain to be made.
I visited Oz in the early eighties, best job interview ever for 3 weeks, couldn't tear myself away from sunny Yorkshire though.

Changed the springs, I think you have too! My kit needs shorter springs, as they need to sit between intiminators , top of lower tube and, the cap top in forks, this is much less than 1/2 the length of the originals. A much stiffer shorter spring is required.

    That's got me thinking!
I presumed the springs would be the same length or longer as I have seen in some of the YouTube clips and then cut the tubes to suit ?
The intiminators are only short in length, maybe 30mm ?
Looks like these will have to be brought in from the States unless someone knows of a UK supplier.
I don't want to be spending my brass until certain.
    Cheers

Hi Mick, yes you need to cut the spacers atop the springs,as the new shorter and heavier to compress springs won't fit! Takes too much pressure!! Your forks IF you where success full would be solid iron bars!!!!
