    Hello,

I've disassembled my 2004 Daytona 600 during my white smoke investigation (see other thread) and would like to fit new o-rings to the fuel connectors as I have one missing and another in an iffy condition.

I know some time ago there was a recall or something with fuel connectors being replaced for metal ones?
However as I am investigating my Daytona's white smoke issue I don't want to be spending on parts if I am soon to have some engine bad news :sob:

But I would prefer not to go up in flames when it's reassembled and fired up :sun: (just imagine a flame emojii)
So new o-rings is what I require. I recall looking at parts diagrams recently but don't remember seeing the o-ring as a separate part.

These 2 connectors; (a metal & plastic one - the ones on this connector look smaller)

If anyone knows the correct size specification and/or a supplier (I'm in the UK) of replacement o-rings that would be much appreciated.

EDIT: I could remove and measure them but o-rings 'deform' over time and it's the original size you need to know. Also they might not play ball and come off neatly.

    Thanks,

    Mark

I don't know if they will be to the standard needed for fuel connections, but Aldi have a set of O'rings for sale of all sizes in a box for about £3.00

    I saw them today

The metal fittings come from https://www.cpcworldwide.com/ and at least the USA distributor is http://www.quickcouplings.net/. I am also researching the o-ring part number. The fittings are LCD10004BSPT (1/4" female fitting on tank) LCD23004 mating fitting. These are for the return line. The pressure line is 3/8 inch. My Sprint RS has barbed fitting on tank and a right angle fitting, however my Speed Triple has both females fitted to tank. The 3/8 fittings are LCD17004 and LCD23006. Look at the images to be sure. I figure the 3/8 female in the tank is LCD10006BSPT. I will be contacting these fellows and will find out what the O-Rings are. I just bought a few of these. I am also using Viton rings, as they are better than buna-n.

The standard size used for the older fittings are T1240181 Triumph part. This is a 5/16" ID, 7/16" OD, 1/16 Width, Buna-n, Hard 70, Shore A. Fastenal part SKU1166805, or McMaster Carr 9452K19 - 011. Viton is 9464K16 - 011.

They do right HERE - 125 Piece O-Ring Assortment. The box does say for static sealing "except for food or portable water application". But I'm in North London at the moment and the smaller Lidl/Aldi 'local' type stores don't stock the 'specials'.
It doesn't specifiy the material but it's worth buying and sticking in the garage for emergencies/future requirements. I'll definately make a note to check it out next time I'm near a 'larger' store. :)

Thanks to Hobnail, freck, Gladtobebackontwowheels for the info and links which I will follow up in detail and hopefully will have my sickly looking o-ring's replaced!

    Thanks,

    Mark

Did you ever figure out which fittings are the correct ones? I've got a fuel leak on my 02' Daytona 955 and have been pulling what little hair I have left out trying to find the o-rings locally.

    Hi,

Yes - I ended up taking off one of the O-rings I was replacing extremely carefully then measuring with a calliper.

I contacted ebay seller SealsRus who got some in the size I required.

    See the seller HERE

I'll try and find my measurements next time I'm in the garage.

    Thanks,

I used genuine seals from World of Triumph when I did my T595 fuel pump recently. A bit pricey at £5.00 each but peace of mind in my opinion and no E10 fuel is coming near my bikes! ;)
